Thoralby is a village in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It lies south of Aysgarth, is within a mile of both Newbiggin and West Burton and is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is 23.5 miles south west of the County Town of Northallerton.
The village is located between Littleburn Beck to the south west and Heaning Gill to the north east on the north bank of Bishopdale Beck. The B6160 road runs parallel to the village on the south bank of the beck.
As a final footnote Thoralby was featured in the British television series All Creatures Great and Small, in the episode "If Music Be the Food of Love".
Leyburn is a market town in the district of Richmondshire, North Yorkshire, England sitting above the northern bank of the River Ure in Wensleydale, famous for its cheese.
Although a small town, Leyburn has its own railway station on the re-opened Wensleydale Railway which offers tourist rides throughout the dale, mostly on diesel multiple units but occasionally on a steam train.
The town is a centre for walking, cycling and general sight-seeing, especially the waterfalls for which Wensleydale is also renowned. The town is famous for the Leyburn Shawl, an escarpment of about 1.5 miles in length which provides panoramic views of rolling Wensleydale.
Annually there is a Dales Festival of Food and Drink, held over May Day bank holiday weekend.
There is also an annual 1940s weekend, which takes place each year at the end of July, step back in time.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway carries more passengers than any other heritage railway in the UK and the National Railway Museum is to be found in the county capital city, York.
